Mechanical Estimator (Salaried): $75,000 - $90,000 per year

Actual pay depends on education, experience, and performance

UMC is growing and looking to add an experienced Mechanical Estimator to our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum combination of 5 years of mechanical estimating, project management experience, or a construction related degree. They must be detail-oriented, organized, driven, motivated and thrive in a team-centered environment. We are looking for an individual who is willing to emulate UMC’s Mission, Vision and Core Values. Our estimating department is constantly challenged to learn more and strives for continuous improvement as the construction world around us evolves. Mechanical Estimator Responsibilities and Duties

  • Establish and maintain working relationships with clients, vendors and subcontractors
  • Understand plumbing and HVAC scopes of work
  • Accurately prepare estimates
  • Ensure timely completion of estimates
  • Understand and prepare cost analysis
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Prepare submittals
  • Complete detailed handoff meetings to project team

Mechanical Estimator Qualifications and Skills

  • 5 years of mechanical estimating or project management experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or other related field will be considered as experience
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Willingness to learn

Occasionally exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites occurs. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
